Break the Craving Cycle - Micronutrients depleted by sugar

Break the

Craving Cycle

Micronutrients depleted by sugar

Do you crave sweet food and then find that a bite leads to two and then some more? When your body ingests sugar, your calcium, magnesium, chromium, and copper are depleted. Vitamin C is also affected: A slightly elevated blood sugar level can block Vitamin C from getting in and can cause a weakened immune system.

The drop in calcium and magnesium levels makes you crave sugar or salt. As you eat more sugar, your calcium and magnesium levels drop. Your body will desire even more and more sugar or salt without finding satisfaction and the cycle will continue.

Take a look at the following chart. It will give you a better idea of the food that provides the micronutrients, why is the micronutrient important, and what are the symptoms and problems when the micronutrient is depleted.

Before considering adding supplementation to your system. I invite you to consider lowering your sugar intake to less than 25 grams per day. Add the foods, recommended, to your meal. You will notice the symptoms and cravings decrease.

Replace the quick appetizing fix of sugar for better health. If you need help practicing sugar distancing, here is a blog I wrote and use, every time I feel my sugar intake gets out of control Practicing Sugar Distancing
